Earlier, ICC today announced the names of nine cricketers to choose the best cricketer of the tournament based on their performances throughout the tournament. The best cricketer has to be selected from these nine options. Two Indian cricketers have got a place on this list. Besides, two cricketers from Pakistan, three from England, one from Zimbabwe, and one from Sri Lanka are on this list. Shadab Khan: This star all-rounder plays an important role in the team’s victory with the ball and the bat. He played an effective role with bat and ball in the death-defying match against Bangladesh to reach the semi-finals.

Shaheen Afridi: He was not in good form against India and Pakistan in the first two matches of the tournament. The team did not win then. He started taking wickets in the match against the Netherlands and since then has taken wickets in every match. In the crucial match and semi-final against Bangladesh, he took a total of 7 wickets and played a major role in helping the team reach the final.

Sam Curran: This left-handed pace bowling all-rounder has consistently bowled well for England in the entire tournament except for the semi-finals. He is also well in the race to be the highest wicket-taker.

Jos Buttler: He too was not in good form at the start of the tournament. But his bats rumbled into a familiar rhythm against last year’s World T20 runners-up New Zealand and yesterday’s semi-final against India, with England also winning big in both matches.

Alex Hales: Although not in the best form, in the beginning, he was not in bad form either. But with big runs against New Zealand, Sri Lanka, and India in quick succession, he is in the running to become the tournament’s highest run-scorer. He has a big contribution to the result that England reached the final today.

Sikandar King: Sikandar Raja is one of the biggest reasons Zimbabwe has qualified for the Super Twelve over the first round hurdle and won a match against the likes of Pakistan who are playing the final today. Although he is not the captain on the books, his performance has inspired the Zimbabwean team. He has shown this extraordinary form in batting and bowling.

Warindu Hasaranga: Sri Lanka has lost several close matches in the current World Cup. Hasaranga’s bowling was a big reason why they came so close to victory and qualified for the Super Twelve despite losing a match in the first round. This star legspinner has taken a total of 13 wickets in the first round and is super in the current tournament.
