In Karauli, Rajasthan, the miscreants burnt the priest alive by spraying petrol. During the treatment, the priest died at Sawai Madho Singh Hospital in Jaipur. Politics is enthusiastic about this incident. The opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the ruling Congress are face to face. What the bullies did to the priest, the villagers told the whole story of the day of the incident to Aaj Tak.

According to the villagers, Dabangg wanted to capture the land of the temple. The bullies had set up a hut on that land. Were going to set up a second hut. After knowing about this, the priest Babulal Vaishnav opposed it and tried to stop him from doing so on the spot. According to the family, the bullies set the priest on fire by spraying petrol.

The villagers say that the bullies sprinkled petrol on the priest and set him on fire after beating them there. The priests burning in the fire kept on running here and there. Lalit, a relative of the priest, said that on getting information about this, he rushed to the running spot and extinguished the fire, but by then he was quite burnt. In a hurry, the priest was taken to the hospital for treatment. Doctors at the nearby hospital referred the priest to Karauli for first aid.

According to Lalit, the policemen also asked to be taken to Jaipur instead of Karauli. The priest was taken to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Jaipur, but the doctors there refused treatment. Doctors said that they have burnt up to 90 percent. After this, the priest was admitted to Sawai Madho Singh Hospital, where the priest succumbed during treatment.

The villagers have sat on a dharna demanding justice for the priest. The villagers are demanding a compensation of Rs 50 lakh to the victim’s family, a government job to a family member. The villagers are adamant on not performing the last rites till their demands are met. The District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police have reached the village 48 hours after the incident.
