After the letter of Parambir Singh in Maharashtra, the Uddhav government has been in trouble. Senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis has submitted more than 6 GB of data to the Home Ministry, in which he claimed that there has been a large scale corruption in transfers and postings in the police department in Maharashtra. Fadnavis alleged that the Intelligence Department report did not take action by the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government, after which he demanded a CBI probe into the case. Former Chief Minister Fadnavis claimed that calls were recorded by the then Intelligence Commissioner Rashmi Shukla with permission and that he had 6.3 GB of data on the call conversations in which the names of several key police officers were discussed.
After meeting the Home Secretary, Devendra Fadnavis said that I have given all the proofs in sealed envelopes. He has assured me that he will look into the matter and the government will take appropriate action. Earlier, the BJP leader said that all these phone calls were recorded by Shukla with proper permission from the state government but despite submitting the report to the Chief Minister (Uddhav Thackeray) in August 2020, no action has been taken on the report. He said, “I am seeking a CBI inquiry into the matter.”
Reversing Fadnavis, the NCP, part of the MVA, said the BJP was misleading people. Fadnavis had told journalists that the report of the then Intelligence Commissioner Rashmi Shukla mentioned the names of senior police officers, IPS officers and others, including political leaders. This is very sensitive information, so I am not disclosing it at the moment.
I gave all evidence to Union Home Secy, in a sealed envelope. I’ve demanded CBI inquiry. He assured me he’ll look into it & govt will take appropriate action. Why was the matter brushed under carpet? Why did state govt do nothing? Whom did they want to protect ?: Devendra Fadnavis pic.twitter.com/2AgiAhwF7h

The Leader of the Opposition also said that when he was the Chief Minister of the state, he received secret information in 2017 that some police officers were meeting in a hotel regarding the transfer of police officers. “It was part of a gang and completely illegal,” he said. Therefore, raids were conducted and arrests were made. ”When Fadnavis was the Chief Minister, he also had the responsibility of the Home Department.
Fadnavis has claimed that the talk in 6.3 GB data pertains to the Home and Police Department alone. All the officers whose phone calls were recorded got the posts for which they had lobbied. This proves that the phone call recorded by Shukla has important details.
