A Delhi court on Wednesday granted bail to two accused in the Delhi violence case. The court has said that the accused are not named in any FIR nor are there any specific allegations against them.

Additional Sessions Judge Vinod Yadav has granted bail to both the accused Rashid Saifi and Mohammad Shadab in the case of looting and setting fire to a shop in Dayalpur area during the violence in north-east Delhi. Opposing the Delhi Police’s demand for bail from the accused, they are relatives of former councilor Tahir Hussain, the main conspirator in the case.

The court has ordered the accused to be released on the condition of furnishing a surety of Rs 20,000 each and a surety of the same amount. The court said that the names of petitioners Saifi and Shadab were neither taken in any FIR nor were there any specific allegations against them. Also, the police did not present any such footage in which both of them appeared to be involved in the mob of violence. Delhi Police told the court that during the investigation, the alleged role of both of them came to light and they were arrested after that. Police has filed a charge sheet in the case to the court.
