It is said that upon seeing Dilip Sahab, Devika Rani was so impressed with him that she launched him from the film ‘Jawabhata’, the film was released in 1944. Just a year later, on the recommendation of Dilip Kumar, Devika Rani offered the role to Mukari in the 1945 film ‘Pratima’.

However, in 1994, he distanced himself from Bollywood in view of his wife’s declining health and fully engaged in his wife’s service. Let us tell you that Mukari died of a heart attack on 4 September 2000.
