There is good news for students studying in the state’s degree colleges. Now the posts of professors in any college will not be vacant. The Directorate of Higher Education has started working on the goal of 100% deployment of professors in every degree college in the state by the end of November. On the instructions of the Minister of State for Higher Education (Independent Charge), Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, fast work is being done to accomplish this goal.
The government has sanctioned posts of 2156 professors for 106 degree colleges in the state. Degree colleges have got 468 professors from the previously approved Public Service Commission. There are 300 more professors to meet soon. These posts are included in the approved posts of 2156 professors only. Presently there are 1916 posts for permanent professors. Only the posts of 240 professors are running vacant. Permanent deployment of 240 vacant professors in colleges is being sent to the Adhikan government.
Till then the vacant posts are being filled through the visiting faculty. The visiting faculty is being removed on receipt of permanent professors. Director of Higher Education Dr. Kumkum Rautela said that on the instructions of the government, the process of filling the vacant posts in degree colleges has been expedited. Professors are being posted on vacant posts in remote areas on priority basis.
By the end of November, 100 percent posts of professors will be filled in every degree college in the state. Guidelines have been issued to officers of the Directorate of Higher Education. This goal set by the government will be met in time.
