An Indian traveling nurse has been praised for saving the life of a fellow passenger on a flight to receive recognition for her work. P. to participate in the program to honor the winners of the Florence Nightingale Award for Nursing. Geeta was traveling from the southern state of Kerala to the national capital, Delhi. However, 30 minutes after the flight took off, the cabin crew called for medical attention. Suman, a soldier on his way to Indian-Occupied Kashmir, collapsed in the seat where he was sitting..His pulse also dropped. Knowing the matter, Geetha acted cunningly and saved his life.

CPR was administered to a 32-year-old man from Nilambur who suffered a heart attack and saved his life. The incident took place when Geeta was on her way from Kannur on an Air India flight to attend a function at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. P. to participate in the program to honor the winners of the Florence Nightingale Award for Nursing. Geeta is traveling from the southern state of Kerala to the national capital, Delhi.
Suman, a 32-year-old soldier, suffered a heart attack on the way after the plane took off. He had trouble breathing. Then Steward Mustafa had any doctors in the plane..? inquired. Former Nursing Superintendent of Kozhikode Medical College P. Geetha treated. Suman’s health condition was examined and it was found that his BP and pulse rate were low. After that, they started CPR and saved the youth’s life. Many doctors, including former State Social Security Mission Director, and World Health Organization-New Delhi National Professional Officer Mohammad Ashil, have come forward to help. Despite all their efforts, Suman survived.
Talking about the incident, ‘Florence Nightiegelal’s awardee Geetha, who gave CPR and saved his life, said, ‘A passenger collapsed immediately after take-off. Meanwhile, the staff..asked..were there doctors and nurses available. I attended in a hurry. The patient has no pulse and no BP. We started CPR with the staff. After CPR he was able to breathe. Treatment was given on the plane itself. I decided to save him anyway. After that, Geeta explained that he was a soldier. Not only that, it was difficult to give treatment to Suman in the beginning because the pulse rate was known through CPR. Later he managed to save his life. To this Dr. Prem Kumar, and Dr. Ashil contributed. We stayed with him till he came to Delhi and gave treatment. Geetha with her husband P. Satya Prakash was also there.

Geetha won the National Award in 2020. The award was announced in recognition of her efforts during the outbreak of the Ninfa virus in Kerala in 2018. During the massive floods in the state in 2018-2019, Gita was involved in disaster management activities in the war against Covid-19.
In 2019, Geetha won the Best Nurse Award in Kerala. She started her career at North District Government Medical College Hospital, Kozhikode. Later worked across the state. She retired from government service earlier this year and is currently working in a private hospital in Kozhikode.
