They were replying to the question of whether being a girl from a middle-class family and marrying into a star family was a concern.
“There was no such thing as a star family at that time. While working at NDTV, Srinivas Jain, a veteran journalist, was given the assignment to do a story on Malayalam films.
Apart from Mammootty and Mohanlal, no other actor was known then. A colleague friend gave me a mobile number and said she is a young actor in Malayalam. He is a party who has a good understanding of the movie. You call and see. That would be useful.
I called That single call changed my life. The interview and that feature didn’t happen. But Prithvi and I became friends. We don’t know that Polly is a big star or belongs to a star family. Gradually the friendship grew stronger. We started dating.
Prithvi will come to Mumbai during rush hours. Will travel with me in auto. Will be on the beach and drink tea from the roadside. At that time all books would be bought two. One is Prithvi. Will talk about it a lot after reading it.
Marriage is decided after four years of acquaintance. I decided to marry Prithvi who was with me. But it was not the star.
I did not think about life after coming to Kerala. But after reaching here, it was like a goldfish in a glass bowl. Everyone looks at me and listens to me, and many of the words spoken become news and controversy.
Returned to Mumbai after six months’ leave. It was very crowded that day. I’m so tired. So decided to leave the job. I came to Kerala without any plan,” said Supriya Menon.
Directed by Alphonse Putra, Gold is the latest film that hit theaters under the banner of Prithviraj Productions. The film is getting a mixed response.
