Maharashtra’s Higher Education Minister Uday Samant has said that Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has been given permission to start a sub-center in Doha, Qatar. He was addressing at SPPU on Thursday where he attended the Grievance Redressal Forum meeting and heard the issues related to the students.

Samant said, “SPPU has been given the necessary approval to start its course in Doha, Qatar. There was an agreement in 2019 between the SPPU and the Government of Qatar to open a sub-center there. ”

The minister said that due to Kovid-19, the stalled recruitment process in the university will be restored. Samanta said that a sub-center of Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University will be opened in Balewadi, Pune.

According to the SPPU, out of a total of 4,411 pending cases, 4053 cases involving students, teachers, principals, non-teaching staff and other employees were settled during the meeting.
