The court has granted bail to social activist Khalid Saifi, accused in the communal riots case in north-east Delhi. Apart from the Saifee riots, a lawsuit was also filed under the Arms Act. The court said in its judgment that the investigation against the accused has been completed. There is no possibility of tampering with his evidence. There is no bar in granting bail to the accused. However, despite this order of the court, the accused Saifi will not be released from jail as there is a separate issue of riot conspiracy against him.

The court of Additional Sessions Judge Amitabh Rao, based in Karkardooma, while granting bail to Saifi said that the investigation in the case had been completed. In such a situation, there is no possibility of tampering the evidence and facts when the accused is released on bail. All the documents related to the investigation are in court along with the AAP, so the accused is being granted bail in this case. The court granted bail to accused Saifi on the basis of a personal bond of Rs 50,000 and a surety of the same amount.

However, accused Saifi will not be released from jail even after getting bail. A separate case has been filed against him by the Special Cell of Delhi Police under the conspiracy of Delhi riots. A case is registered against him under the Unlawful (Prevention) Act.

Senior advocate Rebecca John, appearing for Saifi, told the court that her client belongs to a respected family. He is a businessman and also a social worker. He has been implicated in a false case. He is sponsored as a protestor of police attack, while he is a peace-loving person.

The defense counsel said that a case of murder attempt has been filed against Saifi, while the medical report has revealed that the victim suffered minor injuries. At the same time, the Additional Public Prosecutor opposed the bail of the accused, saying that the accused along with other rioters blocked the way and threw stones at the police personnel. Even shot at the police. Not only this, a policeman was surrounded by these rioters and hurt him.

Accusing Saifi, the government lawyer said that Khalid also provided financial assistance to those protesting the CAA and provided illegal weapons. He provoked the mob to attack the police party. However, the court said that the policeman who was said to be injured here had suffered a minor injury.

Police told the court that three safe (important witnesses whose names have been hidden in the chargesheet) related to the Delhi riots have been contacted by people associated with the vested interests of the riot accused. This may endanger the security of witnesses.
