Schools in Mizoram will re-open for students of classes 9 and 11 from 22 February. An education department official said on Wednesday that the schools were opened from January 22 for students of class 10 and class 12. Schools in Mizoram were closed since March last year to prevent the Kovid-19 epidemic from spreading.
The state government, in an order on Wednesday, said that the schools will be open from February 22 for the students of classes nine and 11 and that the temperature of all the students will be checked before entering the schools. It states that students of classes nine and 11 will be allowed to stay in hostels from 22 February.
The order states that the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) prepared by the School Education Department will be strictly followed.
Director of School Education Department James Lalrinchan said regular classes for primary classes pupils are likely to start from March, based on Kovid-19 status.
The state has seen a decline in cases of Kovid-19 and there are currently 18 under-treated patients of the corona virus in the state.
