Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said he was honored to receive the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian award. Satya Nadella said that he looks forward to working with the people of India to further develop the technology sector and raise the standards of growth. Satya Nadella received the Padma Bhushan award given by the Government of India for distinguished services from Dr. TV Nagendra Prasad, Consul General of India in San Francisco. However, due to unavoidable reasons, Satyanadella could not come to India to receive this award presented by the President. He was presented with this award by the Consul General of India in San Francisco, USA. After receiving the Padma Bhushan Award, Satya Nadella said that he feels proud to receive the Padma Bhushan Award and to be recognized by so many extraordinary people. On this occasion, President and Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked the people of India. He said he looks forward to working with the people of India to help achieve technology-driven development. Satya Nadella said that he is planning to visit India in January next year.
In this meeting, Nadella Prasad discussed the key role digital technology is playing in empowering inclusive growth in India. After his meeting with Dr. Prasad, Nadella said that we are living in a period of historical economic, social and technological changes and changes are necessary. Born in Hyderabad, Nadella was appointed CEO of Microsoft in February 2014. He was also appointed as the Chairman of the company in June 2021. He leads the board in setting the agenda.
The Padma Awards are one of India’s highest civilian awards, announced annually on the occasion of Republic Day. Awards are given in three categories. Padma Vibhushan (for extraordinary – distinguished services), Padma Bhushan (distinguished service of the highest order), and Padma Shri (distinguished service).
Meanwhile, Microsoft said that Nadella is planning to visit India in January 2023. Microsoft revealed that he will be visiting the country for the first time in almost three years.
