It has been almost ten years since Satya Nadella took over the reins of Microsoft. He joined the company less than 30 years ago as an engineer and rose through the ranks for about 20 years. Satya Nadella completed Electrical Engineering at Manipal Institute of Technology in 1988 after his attempt to get a seat at IIT failed. In 1992, he started his career as an engineer at Microsoft after completing his Master’s degree in Computer Science. After 8 years, he became the Vice President of Microsoft Central. While working on one side, he completed his MBA on the other side.

Within a year, he was promoted to corporate vice president of Microsoft Business Solutions. After six years, in 2007, he became the senior vice president of Microsoft Online Services. At the same time, he was in charge of Microsoft Office, Xbox Live, and Bing. Oversaw Azure Cloud, Windows Server, and Azure SQL departments in 2011.

Under the leadership of Satya Nadella, the revenue of these divisions reached 3.7 billion within two years. In 2014, he took the reins as the CEO of Microsoft and became known worldwide. It is noteworthy that his stocks have increased by almost 650 percent since then. In 2015, Microsoft launched Windows 10. It has been developed as a unified operating system for all platforms.

Today it can be said that the market share of this operating system is 73 percent. In 2017, Satya Nadella published a book called ‘Hit Refresh’. The money received from the sale of the book is fully allocated to the service programs. In 2018, the Windows Development Group was split into 2 segments. The value of one of them, M-Cap, has increased from 725 billion dollars to 2 trillion dollars at present.

Satya Nadella also became the chairman of Microsoft last year. With this, he owned 8.4 lakh Microsoft shares worth 220 million dollars. Padma Bhushan award in the same year. As he is unable to come to India now, he received the award on the 20th of last month from Dr. TV Nagendra Prasad, Indian Consul General in San Francisco, USA.
