The Steel Authority of India reported a profit of Rs 3645 in the third quarter of this financial year. The company released its quarterly results ended December 31, 2020 on Friday. During this period, the company’s hot metal production grew by 12 per cent to 4.8 MT, while the company achieved 9 per cent growth in crude steel production. Crude steel production stood at 4.37 MT. During this period, domestic sales and exports of the company also increased by one per cent to 4.15 MT.

The total turnover of the company during the December quarter increased by 19.6 per cent to Rs 19614 crore as compared to the same period last year, to Rs 16405 crore last year. If we talk about EBITDA, there has been a growth of 346 percent in this quarter. During the same period last year, the EBITDA of SAIL was 1186 crores, which increased to 5294 crores in the December quarter of this year. At the same time, before paying tax, the company’s profit has increased by 716 percent.
It was only 591 crores in the same period last year, which has now increased to 3645 crores. The newly appointed chairman of the cell, Soma Mondal, said, “We left behind the worst. SAIL has shown overall improvement during the current financial year despite all challenges. We are confident of further improving the performance in the remaining period of the financial year. ”According to the result released by the company, the company’s revenue from operations grew by 20% to Rs 19,835 crore during the December quarter, while the total expenses stood at Rs 16,406 crore.
