The Chief Electoral Officer of India today announced that the Assembly elections will be held on April 6 in Tamil Nadu. But in the last 2 months, the election campaign in Tamil Nadu has started to heat up. Parties including DMK, AIADMK, People’s Justice Center and Congress have started campaigning. Stalin, the DMK leader, has been engaged in a series of campaigns across Tamil Nadu calling for the rejection of the AIADMK and Stalin’s voice towards the dawn.

In this context, the Chief Electoral Officer of India today announced the dates of elections in 5 states including Tamil Nadu. It has been announced that the assembly elections in Tamil Nadu will be held on April 6. The DMK general body meeting scheduled for March 7 has now been rescheduled as all political parties are engaged in a debate on the allocation of seats with the coalition parties.

The DMK General Committee meeting scheduled to be held today 07.03.2021 and the DMK State Conference scheduled to be held on 14.03.2021 in Trichy have been postponed due to the announcement of election dates for Tamil Nadu and Puducherry by the Chief Electoral Officer.

A six-member committee headed by party treasurer DR Palu has been announced to hold further talks with the coalition parties on the electoral alliance. Former Secretary KN Nehru, Deputy General Secretary E. Periyasamy, Deputy General Secretary K. Ponmudi, Deputy General Secretary Subbulakshmi Jagadeesan, Organizing Secretary S.R. Bharathi, High Level Project Member. E. V. Vellu has been appointed.

DMK general secretary Duraimurugan said the group was set up to negotiate a block agreement with the coalition parties.
