Eminent journalist and writer Anil Dharkar died on Thursday. He was reportedly suffering from heart disease. Following the news of his death, many heartfelt messages and condolences arose in honor of the late writer on Twitter.
Anil Dharkar passes away
Anil Dharkar was the founder and director of the Mumbai International Literature Festival, which is held in November every year. He was also the founder and director of Literature Live! It organizes literary evenings throughout the year in different locations in Mumbai. Anil also opened the Akashwani Auditorium in South Bombay as an art film theater.
Apart from this he has been the editor of many publications, he worked in The Independent, Times of India etc. He has been a member of the advisory boards of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Doordarshan, Doordarshan, Children’s Film Society of India and several film funds for the production of films in India. He has also received several awards for journalism.
