Delhi Police say that they were demanding ransom by telling themselves to be the henchmen of Delhi’s infamous gangsters Neeraj Bawania and Hasim Baba locked in Tihar .

In fact, a complaint was given to the Delhi Police by a businessman (Shaheenbagh businessman) at the Shaheen Bagh police station on 13 February that he received a call from Tihar Jail at 6.59 pm on 6 February. In this, the youths had told themselves to be the henchmen of the Neeraj Bawaniya gang and warned to pay a ransom of Rs 50 lakh in two days. The miscreants had also threatened the businessman to bear the consequences if he did not pay the money. On February 12 from the same number, a similar call came again and started demanding a ransom of Rs 50 lakh.

The complainant’s brother also told the police that the crook was calling himself Hasim Baba and was demanding Rs 50 lakh from him. When the ransom call was received from the police, after further investigation on the technical surveillance, it was found that the call was made from North East Delhi. During interrogation, the police came to know that Adil works in a jeans washing factory, where the complainant had sent his jeans for a wash there. Due to Adil, his jeans were damaged and he did not pay him money. Adil wanted to take revenge on him and wanted to earn big money quickly, so he planned to make a recovery with Moin. Moin used to work for a miscreant named Lallu Pahalwan, who is locked in MCOCA. The police have also recovered 4 mobile phones and SIMs from both of them.
