Vehicle fuel prices at their all-time high
Vehicle fuel prices have been increased for the second consecutive day. This week, the price of vehicle fuel has been increased by four rupees per liter. Due to local sales tax or value added tax (VAT), there is a difference in vehicle fuel prices in different states. Currently, the price of auto fuel in the country is at its all-time high. Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan earlier this week attributed the crude oil production cut by Saudi Arabia to the rise in vehicle fuel prices. However, he did not say anything about cutting taxes on vehicle fuel.
Public sector petroleum marketing companies …. Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) resumed daily revision in vehicle prices from January 6. Earlier, there was no change in vehicle fuel prices for about a month. Since then, petrol has become costlier by Rs 1.99 per liter and diesel by Rs 2.01 per liter.
This is how the rate of petrol and diesel increases
After adding excise duty, dealer commission and other things to the price of petrol and diesel, its price almost doubles. If the excise duty of the Central Government and the VAT of the State Governments are removed, then the rate of diesel and petrol would be around 27 rupees a liter, but both the Central or the State Government, can not remove the tax at any cost. Because a large part of the revenue comes from here. This money leads to growth.
Prices are fixed every morning
In fact, the prices of petrol and diesel change daily depending on the price of crude in the international market along with the foreign exchange rates. Oil marketing companies fix petrol and diesel rates daily after reviewing prices. Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum revise petrol and diesel rates at 6 am daily.
