Following his words, the number of subscribers of the YouTube channel launched on June 3, 2022, is increasing hourly. More than 20 lakh people have already seen the video about his resignation from NDTV.

Last day, Ravish Kumar resigned from the position of senior executive editor of the channel. The resignation followed Adani Group’s takeover of promoter company RRPH, which holds a 29.18 percent stake in NDTV. Earlier, founders and promoters Prannoy Roy and his wife Radhika Roy resigned from the board of directors of NDTV.

In the statement released by NDTV informing about the resignation of Ravish Kumar, it was stated that the resignation has been accepted. ‘There are very few journalists who have influenced people as much as Ravish Kumar. Wherever he went, he attracted attention. Many awards have come to him inside and outside the country,’ was the statement of NDTV.

The news programs presented by Ravish Kumar like Hum Log, Ravish Ki Report, Desh Ki Baat, Prime Time, etc. had attracted the attention of the audience. He was known as the face of NDTV. He was also a recipient of the Magsaysay Award in 2019.

Meanwhile, Prannoy and Radhika resigned from the directorship of RRPR Holding Private Limited (RRPR Holding Private Limited), the promoter group company of NDTV, the other day. The resignation was announced after the board meeting held on Tuesday.

NDTV has informed that Sudipta Bhattacharya, Sanjay Pugalia and Senthil Sinniah Chengalvarayan will be appointed urgently to fill the vacant positions of both of them.

At the end of last August, the report came out that Adani Group bought 29.2 percent shares of NDTV. In the media sector, Adani’s subsidiary AMG Media Network Ltd bought the stake in NDTV from its own subsidiary VCPL (Vishwapradhan Commercial Pvt Ltd).

AMG Media Network, owned by Adani Enterprises, had announced that it would buy a 29.18 percent stake in NDTV from VCPL and launch an open offer for 26 per cent stake. If the additional 26 per cent stake is acquired, Adani Group’s total stake will rise to 55.18 per cent. This will pave the way for the Adani Group to take over the management control of NDTV.

NDTV’s profit was Rs 85 crore in the last financial year. Prannoy Roy and his wife Radhika Roy hold a 32.26 percent stake in the firm. NDTV Group owns TV channels NDTV 24*7, NDTV India and NDTV Profit.

When the news first broke, NDTV had come out against Adani Group-owned VCPL’s move to acquire 99.5 percent control of RRP Holding Pvt Ltd (RRPH). In a statement issued by NDTV, it was said that VCPL had prepared such an action without their knowledge or consent.
