IPL 2021: The 14th season of the Indian Premier League is going to start from 9 April. The Punjab Kings are eyeing a comeback after a disappointing performance in the IPL last year. Punjab Kings have not only changed many of their big players in this episode, but also appointed a new bowling coach. The Punjab Kings have appointed former Australian first-class cricketer Damien Wright as the bowling coach of the team for the 14th season of the IPL.
Wright represented Tasmania in a large part of his career. Wright has a lot of experience as a bowling coach and was also the coach of BBL team Hobart Hurricanes. Wright has also served as the head coach of the Bangladesh Under-19 cricket team.
“I am very happy to be appointed as the bowling coach for the Punjab Kings,” Wright said. The team is fantastic and this team has a lot of potential and I am looking forward to working with an amazing support staff team in this season of IPL. ”
Anil Kumble announced
“We are happy to announce that Damian Wright will join us as a bowling coach in the Punjab Kings,” said Anil Kumble, Punjab Kings’ head coach and director of cricket operations. He has a lot of experience and will definitely help in strengthening our team. We look forward to working with him in this season of IPL. ”
Apart from Kumble and Wright, Punjab Kings also have Jonty Rhodes (fielding coach), Wasim Jaffer (batting coach) and Andy Flower (assistant coach) among other big names. Wright took 406 wickets in 123 first class matches and scored 3,824 runs.
