On Monday, the prices of mustard, cottonseed, soybean oil oilseeds, CPO and palmolein oil registered an improvement on Monday in the oil market. On the other hand, in Indore’s Sanyogitaganj Grain Mandi, on Monday, the price of gram thorn was 25 rupees and the price of gram dal rose by 150 rupees per quintal compared to Saturday. Today, tur (arhar) pulses are sold at Rs 100 per quintal.

According to oil industry sources, buying in the market increased in view of the fast trend in foreign markets and the upcoming festive demand. He said that due to the high demand for old mustard in the market and lack of goods in the market, all its oil prices including mustard seeds increased. On the other hand, prices of groundnut oil oilseeds continued to remain the same amid normal business. Cottonseed oil prices also improved due to local demand.

The Chicago Exchange was closed today, while the Malaysia Exchange gained nearly 3.5 percent. Soybean oil oilseed prices improved due to heavy demand for soybean seed in local plants. Soybean is going to be sown in two to three months and farmers are asking for good soybean seed for sowing from Maharashtra as 15 to 25 percent of the soybean crop of Madhya Pradesh is tainted while farmers need better seed for sowing. Therefore, farmers from Maharashtra are purchasing soybean seed for Rs. 5,200 – 5,300 per quintal.
