In India, 16,577 new cases of Kovid-19 were reported in a single day followed by 1,10,63,491 infection cases out of which 1,07,50,680 people have become infection free. According to the latest data released by the Union Health Ministry at eight o’clock on Friday morning, 120 more people died of infection in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 1,56,825.

The number of under-served people in the country also increased to 1,55,986, which is 1.41 percent of the total cases. According to the data, with a total of 1,07,50,680 people becoming infection free, the recovery rate of patients in the country increased to 97.17 percent. The death rate from Kovid-19 is 1.42 percent. In the country, the number of infected people reached 20 lakh on August 7 last year, 30 lakh on 23 August and 40 lakh on 5 September.

At the same time, total cases of infection had crossed 50 lakh on 16 September, 60 lakh on 28 September, 70 lakh on 11 October, 80 lakh on 29 October and 90 lakh on 20 November and one crore on 19 December. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 21,46,61,465 samples of Kovid-19 have been tested in the country till 25 February. Of these, 8,31,807 samples were examined on Thursday.

The recovery rate in the country has come down to 97.21 and the rate of active cases has increased to 1.37 percent while the death rate is still 1.42 percent. The corona is slowly becoming severe once again in different states. Corona virus cases are again on the rise in Maharashtra. There have been 8,807 new cases in the state in the last 24 hours. 80 people have also died. 2772 people were discharged. In addition, 1,167 cases have been reported in Mumbai. According to the state health department, total corona cases in Maharashtra have increased to 21,21,119. Out of this, 20,08,623 people have also been recovered. The number of active cases is 59,358, while the total death toll has increased to 51,937.

At the same time, after more than a month in Mumbai’s slum Dharavi, the number of cases of Kovid-19 reached double digits on Wednesday and 10 new cases were reported. Earlier, on January 17, 10 cases of corona virus infection were reported in Dharavi and since then daily cases had remained in single digits or zero. The official said 33 Kovid-19 patients are currently undergoing treatment in the area.
