KB Uttamkumar: VVMC Marathon Misused By Bahujan Vikas Aghadi: BJP district general secretary KB Uttamkumar has asked the Bahujan Vikas Aghadi to stop misusing the marathon and artistic competitions organized by the Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation for their political gain. He was speaking at the reception meeting given to KB Uttamkumar by the leaders and workers of Virar constituency after he was appointed as BJP Virar constituency in-charge.
Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation has been under the Commissioner’s rule since June 2019 after the expiry of the term of the Governing Body. The current marathon and other artistic competitions should be conducted under the leadership of the Commissioner and the party leaders of all the political parties. But with the tacit consent and help of some officials of the corporation, Bahujan Vikas Aghadi Marathon and other artistic competitions have been turned into their political propaganda weapon by forming committees that only include the leaders of Bahujan Vikas Aghadi and organizing marathons and other artistic competitions under the leadership of those committees. Uttam Kumar said that this wrong action should be stopped as soon as possible and if not, BJP will launch a strong campaign.
Bahujan Vikas Aghadi is a political party which set the Vasai Virar region back by 25 years in terms of development by changing VVMC only for money making and their political propaganda when they were in power. Due to the Commissioner’s rule for the last three years, they have been hindered from making money through illegal means. This is the beginning of their efforts to regain power and loot the Vasai Virar region, the committees of the marathon competitions, with the help of some officials, are in their hands. People of Vasai Virar region should realize this. Uttamkumar said that if Bahujan Vikas Aghadi is brought to power again, the region will take a step back in terms of development and people’s lives will become more miserable.
People of Vasai Virar are now thinking in favor of BJP. They want BJP to come to power for comprehensive development in the region. BJP has already opened about twenty ward offices in Virar constituency. There is a wave in favor of BJP everywhere in the region. This is due to good leadership and strong workers. KB Uttamkumar further said that BJP’s strength in the region will be reflected in the upcoming elections.
Virar constituency president Narayanan Manjrekar presided over the function. Other office bearers such as Mahesh Patel, Mukesh Singh, Ravi Purohit, Harish Bhagat, Prasad Patil, Kamlesh Patel and Thripti Mammale also participated in the event.
