Interim bail to comedian Farooqui:Relief from the Supreme Court for the accused of commenting on the gods and goddesses, still in doubt when he comes out of jail

Standup comedian Munawar Farooqui was granted interim bail by the Supreme Court on Friday. He is accused of making indecent remarks on Hindu deities, Home Minister Amit Shah and other leaders. He is in the Central Jail of Indore for nearly a month. It is not clear yet whether he will be released or not, as cases have been filed at several places in this case.

Farooqui had come for the New Year’s program to perform in the program of the 56th shop Munro Cafe in Indore on New Year. When Hindu organizations got the news, they too reached the event with tickets. Before Farooqui, comedian Priyam Prateik Vyas allegedly started indecent remarks on Hindu deities. The leaders of the Hindu organization beat him up and took him to the police station.

Farooqui had filed two petitions in the Supreme Court, Farooqui has filed
another petition in the Supreme Court. In this, he has demanded to transfer the case filed against him in different states at one place. A case on Farooqi has been registered in Prayagraj. A production warrant was issued last month, on which the Supreme Court has now stayed. Farooqui had earlier filed a bail application in the District Court and the Indore bench of the High Court, which was dismissed.

Farooqui has been accused earlier of being
a resident of Gujarat. They have been accused of insulting Hindu deities before. Some of its videos are available on social media.

What is interim bail?
This is a temporary bail. The court considers the accused’s requisite documents and considers his permanent bail until interim bail is granted.
