Indian Railways will provide passenger facilities like a huge roof plaza, food court, waiting for lounge, children’s play area, special space for local products, etc. in the stations to be redeveloped. The development works will connect the railway station with various modes of transport like the metro, bus, etc. Apart from this, green building technology and other facilities will be adopted for ‘Divyangajan’ in the construction of station infrastructure. The stations will be developed with an intelligent building concept with state-of-the-art amenities for passengers. Railways will develop facilities like a ‘city center at the station for passengers as well as common people.

Railways have started the tender process for the redevelopment of 16 stations including Anand Vihar Terminal under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model. Tambaram, Vijayawada, Dadar, Kalyan, Thane, Andheri, Coimbatore Junction, Pune, Bangalore City, Vadodara, Bhopal, Chennai Central, Delhi Hazrat Nizamuddin, and Awadi stations will be redeveloped. The auction for the above-mentioned stations will be held this year itself. Meanwhile. Rani Kamalapati Station in West Central Railway, Gandhinagar Rajdhani Station in Western Railway, and Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal Station in South Western Railway have already been developed. Now they are also available for passengers.
