Amidst the epidemic of corona virus, the Ministry of Health has said that the third phase trial of Bharat Biotech’s Corona vaccine will start soon. In a press conference on Tuesday by the Ministry of Health, it was also said that the trial of the Oxford vaccine is also in the third phase. Its result is expected from November to December.

On the question related to funding for the purchase of the vaccine, the Health Secretary said that financial help is being given to the vaccine makers to help in the pre-clinical trial. Other options are also being considered. Single dose and double dose vaccines are still under development. Referring to the deaths from Corona, he said that 10 per cent of these are youth in the age group of 26 to 44 years. Expressing concern about this, Rajesh Bhushan said that 35 per cent are people in the age group of 45 to 60 years.

Secretary of Health Ministry said that 62 lakh patients of Corona have been cured after treatment so far. The positivity rate in the country is 8.07 percent. Corona currently has less than 9 lakh active cases in the country. He claimed that the testing has increased and the positivity rate has come down. 11 lakh 36 thousand tests have been done in a day.

According to the Ministry of Health, testing in 14 states and union territories of the country is more than the average of 10 lakh tested per country. The positivity rate in these states is also below the national average. Kerala is third in the country in terms of new cases every day. Till a few weeks ago, Kerala was not even in the top 10 states. Maharashtra and Karnataka are the top two states in this list. The Health Secretary said that the Ministry is constantly in touch with these states.

Referring to the estimate of NCDC, Dr. VK Paul said that in winter, 15,000 new cases are expected to come to Delhi every day. He said that preparations have been made in this regard. However, it is not necessary that there are so many cases.

Balaram Bhargava, DG of the Indian Council for Medical Research, said that according to the World Health Organization, there have been two dozen cases of re-infection in the world. Some people here have also become infected again. He said that the WHO is also not defining the infection again. After 100 days, the virus started catching itself again. Bhargava said that those who have been cured, have antibodies for about 4 months.
