New Delhi: Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav believes that it will not be easy to perform guest team captain Joe Root, Jose Butler and Ben Stokes in the upcoming four-Test series between India and England.
The first Test match starts at the MA Chidambaram Stadium from Friday. England beat Sri Lanka in a 2–0 Test series at the same venue in which Captain Root scored 426 runs with a century and a double century, while Butler scored 131 runs in three innings played in Sri Lanka. Although Ben Stokes was not part of the team.
Kuldeep Yadav said before the first Test match, England has definitely played very good cricket in Sri Lanka. The way he (Joe Root) faced spin bowling in Sri Lanka, he is in a very good rhythm and touch. It will be a bit challenging for me to execute my plans, because I am playing after such a long time, but I have good plans to see these batsmen playing in ODIs and playing against Sri Lanka. I hope I can adopt those plans.
England last toured India in 2016 when they suffered a 0–4 defeat in the five-Test series. He further said about this, ‘Root has time to play his stroke. He also spins well from the back foot. Butler dominates the bowlers really well. This is his strength. Stokes is also similar and keeps the bowler under pressure, but after a long time playing in India (in Test cricket) given that it will not be so easy for him to perform in India. If they perform, it will be credited to them.
