In view of the increase in new cases of Corona virus in recent times in Telangana, all educational institutions will be temporarily closed from Wednesday. This announcement has been made by the state government.
Education Minister Sabita Indira Reddy in the state assembly said that the order of the closure would apply to all government and private educational institutions, hotels and gurukul institutions, but would not apply to medical colleges. He said that online classes will continue for the students.
The minister said that parents have expressed concern over the increase in cases of Kovid-19 and have demanded temporary closure of educational institutions, which were open from February 1 after a gap of ten months.
He said that due to increase in daily cases of Kovid-19, the governments of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh have made announcements to close educational institutions in their states.
Reddy said that after review, the state government has decided to temporarily close all educational institutions from March 24 as a precautionary measure.
