Geo Thermal Power: Current At Feet, Geo Thermal Power Generation.. First Time On Earth: It is known that man has been producing hydroelectric power, thermal power, wind power, solar power, tidal power, and nuclear power so far. Geothermal power: It is known that man has been producing hydroelectric power, thermal power, wind power, solar power, tidal power, and nuclear power. Soon another type of electricity will be produced. Same. Geothermal electricity. All types of electricity used so far have several limitations. That means hydroelectricity can be generated only if there is plenty of water. Thermal electricity can be generated only if there is coal or gas. But, none of these are required for the generation of geothermal electricity. It is enough to drill a hole 20 kilometers deep into the earth from the surface and bring out the unlimited heat there. This is electricity that can be produced continuously. Qais Energy, an American start-up company, is preparing to produce geothermal electricity for the first time on earth. The company’s co-founder Matt Houde expressed confidence that the first plant will start production by 2024.
Houd says that they will drill a hole with special drill machines to a depth of about 20 kilometers from the surface of the earth and bring up the heat there. Tests were also done on this technology in the famous Massachusetts Institute of Technology laboratory in America. The deepest hole ever on Earth is in Russia. In the country’s Pechengsi district, they were able to drill down to a depth of 7.6 miles. However, it took almost 20 years to make this hole. If you drill a hole 20 kilometers as Houd says, the temperature inside will be around 500 centigrade. Drills that can withstand such heat are still not available. That is why this company decided to use powerful waves instead of drills.
First, it is usually drilled up to 3.5 km from the surface. The waves are then injected with highly pressurized gas using special machines. Even hard basalt rocks turn to ash under that pressure. The hole is drilled until the material is in a semi-liquid form inside the ground. Scientists have found that there is huge thermal energy storage. The heat is brought to the surface and electricity is generated by special plants on the surface. Houde stated that plans have been made to generate 100 megawatts of electricity through each plant.
Geothermal electricity has no limits. Electricity can be generated anywhere on earth, at any time. If it is dark, there is no solar power. If the rivers dry up, there will be no hydropower. But, nothing will stop Jio Thermal power generation. This electricity generation does not require a lot of space. So there is no need to destroy forests and natural resources. Howard says we can produce more than we need. First, drills will be started in California, Oregon, Washington, Utah, Colorado, and Nevada. However, the problem with geothermal power is how it can withstand natural disasters like earthquakes and holes in the earth.
