G.N. ABVP Activists Beat Up Delhi University Students Who Campaigned For Saiba’s Release: Professor G.N. Complaint that ABVP activists beat up students who were campaigning for the release of Sai Baba. Delhi University students were brutally beaten up.

The complaint was made by the members of Campaign Against State Repression, a joint front of 36 organizations. About twelve students working as part of Bhagat Singh Chatra Ekta Manch were injured.

The incident happened on Thursday. The students also responded that when they sought treatment at the Hindu Rao Hospital in Delhi after being beaten up, a group of around 50 people surrounded the hospital and threatened them. National media including Siyasat Daily and The Wire have reported the news.

The students also said that the ABVP workers attacked them with stones, sticks, and lathis.

” G.N. We were running a campaign to create awareness about the unjust imprisonment of Sai Baba. 40-50 ABVP students attacked us with lathis (batons).

Many students were injured,” said Ravinder Singh, a final-year law student and current president of the Bhagat Singh Chhatra Ekta Manch.

G.N. The organization has also decided to organize a public meeting on December 5 to demand the release of Saibaba and four others. The issues put forward by the students through the campaign are the oppression of the central government and the injustice faced by people like Sai Baba.

The Supreme Court had stayed the Bombay High Court verdict acquitting Professor GN Saibaba and four others in the case of alleged Maoist links. With this, the release of people including Saibaba will stop.

In the appeal filed by the Maharashtra government against the judgment of the Bombay High Court granting bail, Supreme Court Justice M.R. The verdict was passed by a bench headed by Shah.

In the appeal filed in the Supreme Court, the Maharashtra government had said that the Bombay High Court had passed its judgment without going into the merits of the case and that the High Court had not gone into matters like UAPA.

Mr. Bombay High Court has made a mistake in considering the case and the High Court has taken a shortcut to reach the decision of acquitting Saibaba, therefore a detailed hearing is required in the case, Mr. MR. Shah presided over the bench said.

The Supreme Court has stated that a detailed examination of the verdict is required and a notice will be sent to all the parties and the Maharashtra government in this regard. But the court has allowed the accused to apply for bail. The case will be heard again on December 8.

In October, GN was sentenced to life imprisonment for alleged Maoist links. The Bombay High Court acquitted Saibaba.

The judgment said that the permission order issued to prosecute the accused under the strict UAPA sections in the case was ‘bad and void’. The order was by a bench comprising Justices Rohit Deo and Anil Pansare.

The court also acquitted all four people who were convicted in the case, including Saibaba.

Sai Baba was a professor at Ram Lal Anand College, Delhi University. Saibaba was arrested by the police when he was a professor in the English department. After this, he was fired from his job.

On March 7, 2018, the court sentenced Saibaba to life imprisonment. Ninety percent of Saibaba’s body is paralyzed due to polio.

He was arrested in 2013 on charges of working with the Maoist organization Revolutionary Democratic Front. He was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2017.
