EWS Verdict – Will The Indian Constitution Give Up Its Soul?: Two sections are of the opinion that this ruling is meant to protect the economically disadvantaged. One is the Indian Marxist Communist Party. The second is humanism. Humanists claim that by losing the reservation given to the oppressed when the Indian society was divided by caste, they will get the lower castes as slaves in the future.
Constitutional architect Dr. Mahatma Gandhi’s concept that the soul of India lies in the villages. B.R. Ambedkar did not agree at all. Indian villages have always been Ambedkar’s sleep.
Baba Saheb Ambedkar was disturbed by the fact that our villages divided people into different castes on the basis of Chaturvarna. in those places One of Ambedkar’s main questions was how the soul of India can find peace when human souls are oppressed in the name of caste.
Therefore, the Constitution of India gave importance to equality and equity. Based on this, a reservation policy was formed to make social justice a reality. But now ‘Is the concept of equality in our constitution subverted by accepting reservation for economically backward people? The thoughts are strong. It can be understood from the reactions in different parts of the country that this amendment will be a setback for the basic sections of India.
The Congress was formed on 28 December 1885 as a freedom movement, but it was more of a political and social movement in India for social justice and socialism. The anti-caste struggle started in Tamil Nadu even before independence under the leadership of Thantaiperiyar, in the heartland of India Kanshi Ram, Ram Manohar Lohia, Dr. The movements formed by great minds like Annadure and Jayaprakash Narayan were all about shedding light on the struggles for social justice.

There are reports that the successors of the above-mentioned movements are already planning significant protests against the Supreme Court verdict. DMK has called an all-party meeting in Tamil Nadu. PMK’s founding leader Dr. Ramadas, Vitutalai Chirutai party leader Thola Thirumavalavan and others have come out against the verdict. A storm against the verdict is also likely to blow from Bihar and UP soon.
Two sections are of the opinion that this ruling is meant to protect the economically disadvantaged. One is the Indian Marxist Communist Parties. The second is humanists.
The first is a huge conceptual crisis. Writer Arundhati Roy has beautifully portrayed this dilemma in her debut novel ‘God of Small Things. Again, many criticisms have been raised against this position. The Indian left has the problem of not studying the two concepts of caste and class in the context of the current social situation.
Articles written by Hegel and Marx respectively in the International Tribune in 1830 and 1853 dealt with the crises facing India. Caste and superstitions made Indians disinherited both have observed Therefore, the mission of the Left in India has to be against superstitions and casteism. Unfortunately, I can’t see them thinking that way.
The second category is humanists. As far as humanists are concerned, they are making a heroic effort to turn the Indian Constitution into humanism. They have done all the homework for it. For them, this Supreme Court judgment is a big relief. With the amendment of the Caste Reservation Act, the very face of the Constitution changed.
Humanists claim that by losing the reservation given to the oppressed when the Indian society was divided by caste, they will get the lower castes as slaves in the future.
Therefore, we can see that there is a need to resist changing the basic vision of our constitution. It can be assumed that there will be big discussions and fights on this issue in the coming days. Indian backward political movements have already realized that the Indian Constitution will be unthinkable after giving up its spirit. This amendment is crucial as far as the Constitution is concerned.
