In Bihar, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has confiscated the property of the cheating husband and wife in the name of the trust. They are accused of cheating in the name of getting membership of medical college. Apart from the flat in Patna, 13 plots at Sasaram have been seized. Its price is more than one crore rupees. A case related to cheating was registered against husband and wife at Shastri Nagar police station in Patna.
According to the ED, in the name of Buddhist Welfare Trust, its president Surendra Kumar and secretary Sita Kumari (both spouses) are accused of cheating investors with greed for getting membership of the medical college. The trust was defrauded in the name of establishing a medical college and making it a life member. Many assets were purchased from people who received money in this name. The ED began investigating it after registering a money laundering case. During this time, apart from husband and wife, many assets were found in the name of their daughter Lipsa Kumar. She also has a flat in Vindhya Ambika Apartment in Patna. Apart from this, 13 plots in Sasaram and bank accounts in the name of daughter have been confiscated.
According to the ED, the chairman of Budhist Welfare Trust is related to Surendra Kumar, his wife Sita Kumari and daughter Lipsa Kumar. According to the statement, the investigation found that the accused falsely assured the other members of the trust that the trust was going to set up a medical college and the donors would be given a lifetime membership in it. Accordingly, by greed, the accused collected a huge amount from the members and later the money was transferred from the trust’s bank account to private accounts.
