Delhi Police has collected seven such videos which are believed to be important evidence against former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) councilor Tahir Hussain, the main accused of rioting north-east Delhi. The police have cited these seven videos in their recently filed charge sheet. These videos are of Tahir Hussain’s house and terrace, which are said to be between 23 February and 25 February.
The Special Cell of Delhi Police has filed a charge sheet in Karkardooma Court on charges of plotting riots against 15 people including Tahir Hussain. While many people have been described as part of the riots conspiracy in this charge sheet, the influence of the erstwhile corporator and control over their community has been considered as the main reason for spreading the riots.
According to police, the video shows how preparations were made to harm people from the roof of Tahir Hussain. Tahir’s close associates can be seen clearly in these videos, who are collecting gun-shots, sword-knives, acid, petrol bombs, stones, sticks and other dangerous items there. However, the police also said that Tahir’s associates were not considered part of the conspiracy. Tahir’s associates have been accused of instigating riots, because Tahir was the creator of the real conspiracy. All the other accused were influenced by him.
Took advantage of being home on the main road
The chargesheet states that Tahir Hussain’s house was on the main road from Bhajanpura towards Karawal Nagar, making this place a den for riots. It was easy to attack from here. Tahir Hussain’s house was three storeys. On the roof of the third floor, there was already a lot of riots. His people were allowed to climb there. The rioters took advantage of not having such a tall building nearby. Fire was thrown in the acid soaked from the roof and thrown on the main road. Even acid and petrol were thrown in the vial. Many policemen were also burnt by acid. All these acts are clearly visible in these seven video clippings claimed by the police in the charge sheet. According to the chargesheet, the aggression of the accused is clearly visible in these videos.
Hearing on bail on 12 October
The hearing on the three bail petitions related to the riots of accused Tahir Hussain was also incomplete on Friday. On behalf of Tahir Hussain, senior advocate K.K. Manan and lawyer Uditi Bali submitted arguments and described their client as a victim of a big political conspiracy. At the same time, Special Public Prosecutor Manoj Chaudhary said that there was not enough time to present his case. Subsequently, the court of Additional Sessions Judge Vinod Yadav, who is hearing the riots case, fixed October 12 for hearing the three bail pleas of Tahir Hussain.
