New Delhi : Delhi High Court has sought answers from Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and others in the National Herald case. The High Court has sought this answer on the petition of BJP MP Subramanian Swamy. Subrahmanyam Swamy has challenged the trial court’s decision in the National Herald case in the Delhi High Court.
The lower court denied permission to prosecute
The lower court had refused permission to prosecute Congress President Sonia Gandhi, her son Rahul Gandhi and others on the basis of key evidence presented in her petition. Justice Suresh Kait asked Sonia and Rahul Gandhi, AICC general secretaries Oscar Fernandes, Suman Dubey, Sam Pitroda and ‘Young India’ (YI) to respond to Swamy’s plea by 12 April.
Advocate Satya Sabharwal, appearing for the BJP MP and lawyer Tarannum Cheema, appearing for the Gandhi family and others, confirmed the issuance of the High Court notice and adjourned the hearing till April 12.
