Voting is being held in 30 seats in the first phase of the West Bengal elections. Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress leader Derek O’Brien made a big attack on Shubhendu Adhikari contesting against Mamata Banerjee from Nandigram and said that Bengal’s daughter would defeat the traitor of Bengal in Nandigram. Describing Shubhendu Adhikari as a traitor to Bengal, Derek O’Brien on Saturday said, “The daughter of Bengal (Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee) will defeat the traitor of Bengal from the Nandigram assembly seat.”
Talking to news agency ANI, he said, TMC Bengal will win. The daughter of Bengal will defeat the traitor of Bengal in Nandigram. Tourist gang members will do what they have been doing till now. He tries and ruins government institutions.
Please tell that just before the Bengal elections, Shubhendu Adhikari left the TMC and joined the BJP. Shubhendu Adhikari is the current MLA from Nandigram and this time here he faces TMC supremo Mamta Banerjee. Mamta Banerjee has decided not to contest from Bhawanipur this time.
The second phase of polling is to be held in Nandigram. Voting is in Nandigram on 1 April. In Phihar, first phase polling, an Election Commission official said that till 9 am, 14.28 percent polling was recorded. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee appealed to the people of the state to come in large numbers to exercise their democratic right. Voting is on for 30 seats in the state amidst tight security, most of them in Jungle Mahal, once a Naxal-affected area.
