Symptoms appear for two months or longer in pregnant women infected with coronavirus. This has been revealed in a recent research. Researchers found that in half-pregnant women infected with corona, symptoms of cough, sore throat, and body ache show up to three weeks later.
At the same time, 25 percent of pregnant women have these symptoms for eight weeks. At the same time, 10 percent of pregnant women have symptoms like loss of taste and smell. The team of researchers from the University of California San Francisco and the University of California Los Angeles said the results of this research will help pregnant women and their physicians understand whether they have corona infection.
Principal researcher Vanessa Jacobi said, “We found that pregnant women remain ill for long periods of time when they are infected corona.” This can have a long-term adverse effect on them and their children’s health. The team of researchers monitored 594 women infected with Corona. They were monitored from March to July.
Research published in Obstetrics and Gynecology found that pregnant women were showing many common symptoms. Symptoms such as cough in 20% of women, sore throat in 16% and body pain in 12%. 60 percent of the women had no symptoms after four weeks of infection. At the same time, 25 percent of pregnant women showed symptoms for eight weeks. Most women show mild symptoms.
