Some form of corona virus is spreading rapidly in the southern states of the country and the situation needs to be closely monitored. This is stated in a study by CSIR scientists at the Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB).
This study states that the virus mutation patterns that have been identified in many countries of the world have little presence in India but may be due to the fact that genome sequencing has not done enough.
CCMB scientists are constantly sequencing and analyzing the genome of the corona virus. CCMB director Rakesh Mishra said, “We have found evidence that the ‘N440K’ form of corona virus is spreading rapidly in the southern states.” Close monitoring is needed to understand its spread status.
