In Assam, the daily classes in these educational institutions had to be postponed after the Corona cases surfaced in several schools and colleges reopened from January 1 without restrictions. Recently several teachers were found infected with corona at Don Basco School in Guwahati, while two more schools in the city were also reported to have corona infection.
Meanwhile, amid an increase in corona cases, parents have expressed apprehension over conducting the exam in offline mode. Fearing a second wave of Corona, parents in Guwahati are now seeking to adopt an online mode of examination for their children.
Many schools have decided to conduct the examination online after the requests made by the parents of the students. Schools in Assam have been closed since March 15 last year due to the corona epidemic and students are attending online classes.
Meanwhile, the students of Cotton University in Guwahati have opposed the offline examinations to be held from February 24. Students have criticized the college administration’s move to conduct the examination after recent Corona cases involving educational institutions. On Monday, Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Center for Studies in Performing Arts of Dibrugarh University was declared a prohibited area as two students of the department were found to be infected with corona.
