The newly formed Central Election Authority (CEA) of Congress will meet on Wednesday i.e. tomorrow to discuss the process to be followed for conducting organizational elections in the next few months amid the Corona epidemic. People associated with this case have given information about it. Let me tell you that the Congress had recently asked all the state units to send an updated list of representatives.

A Congress official, who did not wish to be named, said the CEA has also asked the party’s data and technology department to help verify the details of the AICC members.

The election of the president will be discussed,
he said that the foundation stone for the election for the post of president will be laid in the meeting held on Wednesday at the party’s headquarters in Delhi and the Congress Working Committee (CWC) will also be involved.

On 11 September, undergoing a major organizational reshuffle, Congress President Sonia Gandhi formed the CEA to hold internal elections. The five-member CEA is headed by Madhusudan Mistry and its members are Rajesh Mishra, Krishna Baer Gowda, S. Jothimani and Arvinder Singh Lovely, who were among those who wrote letters to Sonia Gandhi last month.

At the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting on August 24, both Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi had asked the party’s highest decision-making body to hold organizational elections within a month, but some members, including Ghulam Nabi Azad, said that Due to the epidemic is not possible. Finally, a six-month upper limit was set to complete internal elections.

Hyderabad-based political analyst C Narasimha Rao said that organizational elections are good for the internal democracy of any political party. He said, “In Congress, nomination had become an integral part for many decades. It is good to hold elections for any party post, but the Congress should try to strengthen the process of internal discussion on all important issues. ”
