The Rishikesh-Srinagar-Badrinath road will open on 16 October. This will make the journey of Chardham pilgrims easier with the local. The road has been closed for the last three months due to mountain-cutting work in Totaghati. Due to which the time is also increasing with the distance of the passengers. More distance has to be traveled about 48 kilometers.

The Srinagar highway will be opened for vehicles on Friday. HH has completed the rock cut work. While the debris removal work is in the final stages. The first route was to be opened on 10 October. But a large amount of debris fell on the road due to blasting. The time to be removed was set until 20 October. But the department has quickly fixed the route. These days most of the debris has been removed from the road between Teenadhara-Devprayag. Asphaltization is to be done only a few kilometers. Which the department is claiming to complete this month.

These days, the number of passengers in Chardham is continuously increasing. Small vehicles like Narendranagar-Khadi-Devprayag and other big vehicles are coming to Srinagar via Chamba-Tehri. The closure of the Srinagar route is taking more than one and a half to two hours. VH Dwivedi, Assistant Engineer, NH Srinagar Division, told that the rock cut work has been completed. While the work of asphalt has been started. Which will be completed this month. Told that complete preparation to open the route from October 16
