The CBI has taken major action in the bribery case in Maharashtra. In the bribery case, Central Bureau of Investigation i.e. CBI has arrested the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Superintendent of South Mumbai and three others. Those arrested include chartered accountants.
The CBI informed that in Mumbai and Delhi on Friday, searches were carried out in six premises including the residence and offices of the said accused persons, in which about 30 lakh rupees were recovered in cash and various documents.
The CBI said that the arrested accused have been sent to police custody till March 28. The Superintendent is alleged to have taken a hefty amount as a bribe from the complainant for non-payment of tax.
