Rahul Gandhi is unhappy with the ongoing discussions about irregularities in ticket distribution in Bihar assembly elections. At the same time, on Tuesday, the Congress Party came out with the media reports. In fact, some reports claimed that the three top leaders of the state Akhilesh Prasad Singh (Chairman Campaign Committee), Madan Mohan Jha (PCC Chief) and Sadanand Singh (CLP Leader) have been excluded.

The Congress party’s Bihar election in-charge and national general secretary Avinash Pandey denied the news and tweeted, “It is unfortunate that a reliable and responsible organization has disseminated this misleading information without verifying it with AICC officials.”

It is being told that all is not well with the Bihar unit of the Congress party as well as increasing resentment within the party against the leaders in elections matters. Three members of the screening committee, Akhilesh Prasad Singh, Madan Mohan Jha and Sadanand Singh, have come under severe criticism after the announcement of the candidates for the first phase of the assembly elections. Akhilesh Prasad Singh was the signatory of the controversial letter written by 23 leaders, which challenges the party’s principles.

Here, Congress general secretary Randeep Surjewala has been given the principal charge of election management. He will head the 14-member Election Management and Coordination Committee. Its convenor is Mohan Prakash. At the same time, the top leaders Akhilesh Prasad Singh (Chairman Campaign Committee), Madan Mohan Jha (PCC Chief) and Sadanand Singh (CLP leader) are not included in this committee.

49 seats candidates declared remaining

In the Bihar elections, the names of candidates are still to be announced in 49 seats of the Congress, due to which the situation in the party remains miserable. There is resentment in the Bihar unit of the party about the way candidates’ names are being decided in closed rooms in Congress. This time the Congress is contesting on 70 seats.
