IND Vs ENG: Test series is being played between India and England amid Corona virus epidemic. However, due to Covid 19, the ICC had changed the rules last year and they also included not taking saliva on the ball. But on Wednesday, England vice-captain Ben Stokes broke the ICC’s Covid 19 guidelines. Ben Stokes was seen salivating the ball on the first day of the third Test, after which the ball had to be sanitized.

The incident happened towards the end of the 12th over when Stokes was seen using saliva to shine the ball, which led umpire Nitin Menon to talk to him. The ball was then sanitized. The ICC had in June last year banned the use of saliva to shine the ball due to the Covid-19 epidemic.

Under the ICC’s Covid-19 guidelines, a team can be warned twice in each innings, but repeated saliva on the ball will lead to a five-run penalty that will be awarded to the batting team. Whenever the bowler makes saliva on the ball, the umpires must clean it before starting the game with the ball.

England’s condition deteriorated

England won the toss and decided to bat first in the Day Night Test being played in Ahmedabad. But the entire England team was all out for 112 runs. Axar Patel took 6 wickets from India while Ashwin got three wickets.

By the end of the day’s play, India had scored 99 runs at the loss of three wickets. Rohit Sharma is unbeaten after scoring 57 runs. India are just 13 runs behind England in the first innings and currently have 7 wickets in their hands.
