Amit Shah said in his opening speech that terrorism is undoubtedly the most serious threat to world peace and security.. But financing terrorism is more dangerous than terrorism. He said that financing terrorism weakens the economic system of the world. Amit Shah said that India condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. No reason can justify the act of taking innocent lives. Expressing his sympathy for the victims of terrorist attacks across the world, the Home Minister said that we should never compromise with this evil. India has been a victim of terrorism for several decades. The Union Home Minister said that Indian security forces and citizens have had to face the worst incidents of terrorist violence.
Shah said that the international community has a collective policy of condemning terrorism in all its forms, but due to the technological revolution, terrorism, its forms and manifestations are constantly evolving. Terrorists and terrorist groups are also using modern weapons, subtleties of information technology, and the dynamics of cyber and financial space. The Home Minister said that the transformation of terrorism from dynamite to the metaverse and from AK-47 to virtual assets is definitely a matter of concern for the countries of the world and we should all work together to formulate a common strategy against it. “We recognize that the threat of terrorism is not linked to any religion, nationality or group,” Shah said.
The Home Minister listed six elements of India’s strategy to curb the financing of terrorism. Amit Shah said that he has seen some countries protecting and sheltering terrorists. Protecting a terrorist is equal to encouraging terrorism. We should never ignore terrorists’ safe havens or their resources. Even those who support them should not be tolerated under any circumstances. Amit Shah said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India has succeeded in curbing terror financing in the past few years.
Shah said that in order to achieve the goal of ‘No Money for Terror’, the countries of the world should understand the “mode – medium – method” of terror financing and follow the principle of ‘one mind, one approach to suppress them. Amit Shah said that terrorists use the darknet to spread radical content and hide their identities.
