The Union Home Ministry on Saturday issued an advisory to all states and union territories stating that police should ensure strict action against crimes against women. As per the order of the rule, it is mandatory for the police “to file an FIR in the case of a cognizable offense under section-sub (1) of section 154 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CRPC).”
