ABB has achieved a major milestone. ABB has provided active front end variable speed drives (VSDs) for the ventilation system of the Chennai metro line, a major infrastructure project connecting key areas of Chennai. Through the new line of Chennai Metro, passengers will be able to travel from the northern part of the city to the Chennai International Airport in the south in about an hour.
ABB Solutions is part of this fourth major metro system in India, with ventilation systems, platform cooling to support ACH580 and ACS880 active front end drives. Active front end drives will support Metro Live’s ventilation system and platform cooling. These drives are part of ABB’s HVAC offering, designed to meet top-class safety, robustness and energy efficiency requirements.
