A Popular Face On Television Who Came From A Farming Family: Who Is App’s Chief Minister Candidate Isudan Gadvi?: Arvind Kejriwal announced the Aam Aadmi Party’s Gujarat chief ministerial candidate last day. Kejriwal’s announcement was made by claiming that this is not the candidate of the party, but the next Chief Minister of Gujarat.
Kejriwal has highlighted Gujarat’s famous journalist Isudan Gadvi to lead Gujarat. Gavi was selected through voting as part of the ‘Choose Your CM’ campaign conducted to find the chief ministerial candidate from the party.
Kejriwal said that 73% of the 16 lakh people who participated in the poll suggested Gadvi’s name.
Who is Isudan Gadvi?
40-year-old Isudan Gadvi is the National Joint General Secretary of the Aam Aadmi Party. Gadvi will join the Aam Aadmi Party in 2021. Gavin hails from an economically well-off farming family in Pipalia village of Dwarka district.
He belongs to the Gadvi caste, an OBC caste in Gujarat. OBCs constitute 48 percent of Gujarat’s population. Gadvi’s popularity on his own as well as his very good image has led to the AAP fielding him for the post of Chief Minister in Gujarat.
Gavi was educated in Khambalia, Jamnagar, and Ahmedabad. A Commerce graduate, he also completed his Master in Mass Communication and Journalism from Gujarat Vidyapeeth, Ahmedabad in 2005.
Gavin started his media career as a trainee journalist at Doordarshan and rose to the editorship of VTV News at the age of 32. The fact that his programs focused on the common man’s problems made him popular.
Gadvi’s television programs during the Kovid period were very popular. Mahamanthan, a news analysis program presented by Gadvi on VTV News, was aired in prime time from 8 to 9 pm. However, due to the popularity of the event, it was later extended to 9.30.
‘My program has lakhs of viewers. People give me love. People gather outside the studio to perform. There is a lot of support, especially from the farmers. They have high hopes for me,’ says Gavi.
Gavin describes himself as a hero who brings hope to the people. Gavin came into the limelight when he unearthed forest loot worth Rs 150 crore in the Dang district.
