The state government cut the school syllabus by thirty percent as the educational institutions remained closed for a long time due to the Corona epidemic. Education Secretary R. Meenakshi Sundaram ordered this on Friday. According to this order, 30% reduction in syllabus from the level of NCERT in Uttarakhand will be valid.
On this basis, home and board examinations will be conducted in the academic session 2020-21. This decision will apply to government, non-government aided and accredited schools run by the Department of Education. Education Secretary informed that the syllabus prescribed from NCERT will be implemented from first to eighth. The syllabus from 9th to 12th will be decided by the School Education Council.
NCERT books are applicable in Uttarakhand from 1st to 12th. But some books are also read from the state level. These books also have to be cut by thirty percent. The secretary said, the syllabus has been cut in view of the examination, but to give more information to the students, they will also try to teach important parts of the cut syllabus.
