Delhi Police on Tuesday arrested a 17-year-old teenager studying in class 12 in connection with a hit and run case in Model Town. Two minor girls were killed and an adult and a six-year-old boy were injured in the incident.

According to the police, an accused boy, currently studying in 12th standard from a private school in Delhi, hit four people with his car on Monday night. The incident happened when these four gurdwaras were crossing GT Road in front of Nanak Piyau.

Two seven-year-old and four-year-old sisters were killed in the incident, while their brother and one person were seriously injured. He is admitted to the hospital for treatment.

Police said the broken number plate found at the scene and with the help of Human Intelligence tracked the vehicle and reached the accused. Police said the vehicle was registered in the name of his uncle.

In this regard, sections 279 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) (rash driving or driving on public roads), 304A (causing death due to negligence) and 337 (endangering the life of others or damaging the personal safety of others). A case was registered under. Police said a case will also be registered against the accused Kishore’s father under the Motor Vehicles Act.

Police said efforts were made to locate the vehicle with the help of clues found at the scene to nab the accused. During the confirmation check of the registration number of the vehicle, the records of different road transport authorities of Haryana and Chandigarh were scrutinized.
